About

An accountant's eye. An attorney's leverage.

Seventeen years resolving tax debt — with a CPA's training underneath the law degree. Most tax attorneys learned tax in law school. I learned it in practice first, as a CPA in New York, before dedicating two more degrees to it. That double lens — the numbers and the law — is the whole practice.

The Path

Numbers first. Then the law. Then both, for 17 years.

I started at Fordham University and went into practice as a CPA in New York — years spent inside financial statements, returns, and the mechanics of how tax liabilities actually arise. That's the training that lets me read an IRS transcript or a Form 433 the way the government's own analysts do.

But accountants can only take a tax problem so far. When the IRS is levying wages or a settlement needs negotiating, the client needs an advocate. So I came north to Massachusetts for a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College — deep technical tax, beyond what either the CPA track or law school teaches — and then a law degree from the Massachusetts School of Law.

For 17 years since, I've practiced as a tax attorney with a single focus: representing people before the IRS to resolve tax debt. Payment agreements, Offers in Compromise, hardship status, appeals, innocent spouse relief. Licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and based in Portsmouth, with IRS representation available regardless of where in the country the Service is chasing you.

The practice runs the way I'd want my own lawyer to run one: published flat fees, modern tools doing the paperwork, and the attorney — not a call-center "case manager" — on every file.
